Meghan Markle did not attend Prince Harry's induction into the Living Legends of Aviation on Friday after one of their children fell ill, People reported.
Meghan, 42, was expected to attend the 21st annual ceremony in Los Angeles with her husband, but ultimately did not. The Duke of Sussex, 39, attended alone as one of four people to be announced as part of the Living Legends of Aviation panel. Host John Travolta presented him with the award in recognition of his past military service.
Meghan and Harry share a son, Prince Archie, 4, and a daughter, Lilibeth, 2.
Although his family did not attend the ceremony, Harry still won the award for someone who has "made a significant contribution to aviation/aeronautics," according to a statement from the Kid Hawk Air Academy.
Travolta, the "official ambassador of aviation", placed the award around Harry's neck on the evening of January 19. "That's nice," Harry said, earning a laugh from the audience.
During his time on stage, Harry called the 69-year-old Shepherd star "Captain John" and referenced the famous dance between his mother, Princess Diana, and Travolta at the White House in November 1985.
"Don't run. I was 1 year old when you danced with my mom," he joked. /BGNES
