Meghan Markle and Prince Harry bought a property in Europe. The couple, who moved to California a few years ago, bought a house closer to the royal family - in Portugal. According to the Daily Mail, buying a property in the Iberian country will allow the couple to get a "golden visa." It will give them visa-free access to the EU's Schengen area.
The Dukes of Sussex acquired property in Europe after the current King of Britain and Harry's father asked them to leave Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Queen Elizabeth II gave them the house as a wedding present.
Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40, became the owners of a 300-home mansion in CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury residential complex on the Atlantic coast. The couple's new property is located in the small town of Melides, 130 kilometres from Portugal's capital Lisbon. The spouses plan to take regular holidays there.
The choice of a new home was not random. Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank also have real estate in Portugal, and Brooksbank is in charge of marketing and sales at CostaTerra. According to the source, it was they who advised Meghan and Harry to buy a property there.
Furthermore, Meghan and Harry have already visited the place: last year they spent a three-day holiday in the country and stayed at a CostaTerra complex with Princess Eugenie and her husband. | BGNES
