Martin Scorsese met Pope Francis and gave him a book

Pope Francis hosted American director and Oscar winner Martin Scorsese during a private audience at the Vatican, the Daily Mail reported.

"During the brief meeting, Scorsese presented the head of the Catholic Church with a book while the two held a film flap in front of the cameras," the Holy See said.

Scorsese was born in New York, where he grew up in an Italian Catholic family. This was not Scorsese's first meeting with the Pope.
