Mariah Carey abandoned her sick sister

On August 27, it became clear that the mother and sister of the singer Mariah Carey died on the same day - August 24, with a difference of a few hours. After that, the network again began to discuss details of the last years of the life of the star's sister - Alison, with whom Mariah had a bad relationship.

Mariah Carey, 55, revealed in a statement about the death of her loved ones that she spent the last week with her 87-year-old mother Patricia, but did not mention her sister, with whom she has not been in touch since 1991. Alison Carey, 63, who is had HIV and was a lifelong drug addict, had been in hospice for the past three weeks. This was reported by her close friend and caregiver Dave Baker to the American newspaper The Sun.

He notes that she has been "having problems with her internal organs" lately. "Underneath Alison's tough exterior was a very intelligent, warm and sensitive person. I knew her for nine years - both as her friend and in recent months as her guardian, I will miss her very much," he told reporters.

Allison has lived with drug addiction and an incurable diagnosis (HIV) for most of her life. In 2020, she sued her mother, accusing her of forcing her, at the age of 10, to participate in sexual orgies with strangers as part of satanic rituals, allegedly under threats to harm Mariah. Alison left home at the age of 15 and became a prostitute in New York before Mariah became a famous singer. Alison later began to suffer from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Despite the difficulties in life, she gave birth to four children, who later also stopped communicating with her.

In 2016, Alison turned to her famous sister for help, reports the Daily Mail. "Mariah, I love you, I desperately need your help," the statement read. Alison was expecting financial support from her sister, as her home had been robbed shortly before and she had suffered a brain injury from being hit on the head with a baseball bat. For a while, Alison was in a psychiatric clinic in New York. In 2018, Mariah and Alison's older brother, Morgan, revealed that after the accident, his sister suffered from memory loss, seizures and sometimes passed out.

“Alison was admitted to a hospital for observation after she was found wandering the street barefoot and half-naked, prompting police concern. Her behavior was due to the injuries sustained during the assault and the fact that she was not taking her medication," Morgan Carey said.

He noted that Mariah had the opportunity to help her sister with the medical bills (the biggest problem in Alison's life), but no matter how many relatives asked her for help, the star ignored their pleas.

"Mariah had the power to make sure Alison got the right care and avoid the lifelong regret of missing the opportunity to forgive and help her only sister. It's small things for these people [celebrities], and her fiance is a billionaire. The least they could do is get Alison into a good hospital and get her the care she needs. Mariah is the only person in the family who could make a real difference in Alison's life." | BGNES
