Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordie star in an adaptation of Emerald Fennell's "Wuthering Heights"

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordie will play the roles of Katherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's upcoming adaptation of "Wuthering Heights"

Fennell will write, direct and produce the new version of Emily Brontë's classic novel in her third film following 2020's A Promising Young Woman and 2023's Saltburn, the latter of which she worked on with Ellordi. Meanwhile, she also starred alongside Robbie in last year's summer blockbuster "Barbie."

The film, 'Wuthering Heights', is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting in the UK next year.

First published in 1847, the book details the tumultuous relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff after they meet while living in the titular residence.

Fennell announced her plans to adapt "Wuthering Heights" as her third film in July, posting a surprise message on social media with a graphic that read, "Be with me always - Take any form - Fool me" - a quote from the novel. | BGNES
