Manchester United overcome Newcastle to keep alive their chances of seventh place

Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League after beating Newcastle 3-2 at home in a postponed Championship game.

At "Old Trafford" the two teams made an attractive match with exchanged supremacy, but in the end the young players of the "red devils" brought success for their team. Kobi Maino opened the scoring for the hosts in the 31st minute after being assisted by Amad Diallo, but Anthony Gordon equalized shortly after the break. Diallo restored United's lead in the 57th minute, and six minutes before the end of regular time, Rasmus Hoylund made it 3-1. Lewis Hall made the final 3:2 in added time.

Thus, Manchester United tied with seventh-placed Newcastle on points, but the "magpies" have a much better goal difference.

In another game last night, Chelsea beat Brighton 2-1 away to move into sixth place with 60 points, three behind fifth-placed Tottenham. /BGNES
