A man stabbed and killed one person and wounded another before being killed by police as he fled the scene in the southwestern French city of Bordeaux, police sources said, reported AFP.
The motive for the attack is not known, the sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The crime took place in a busy neighborhood on the banks of the Garonne River.
Security concerns are high in France because the country will host the Olympics in July and August. Wednesday's attack was the latest in several deadly knife attacks that have shocked France in recent years. On February 3, three people were injured in a knife attack at the Paris Gare de Lyon train station. The suspect with psychiatric problems was arrested. /BGNES
