Gareth Edward's untitled film in the "Jurassic World" franchise may soon have more stars in its lineup, IGN reports.
Mahershala Ala is said to be in talks to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in the next installment of the beloved dinosaur franchise.
Ali, who is best known for his work on the films "Green Book" and "Moonlight," has been a bit more involved with genre films lately, having lent his voice to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "Invincibles."
He'll also play the title character in Marvel's "Blade," which is reportedly feeling much better after he nearly left the project.
Little is known about Ali's role or Johansson's, as details of the film's plot remain tightly under wraps. If their contracts are signed, the pair will join a cast that reportedly already includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Jonathan Bailey and Rupert Friend.
The new Jurassic World film will apparently usher in a new era for the franchise, following the Jurassic World trilogy that aired from 2015 to 2022. Gareth Edwards will direct the new film, while the writer of the original Jurassic Park, David Koepp, will provide the screenplay.
The Jurassic World trilogy was a huge success for Universal. Each of the films grossed more than $1 billion worldwide. / BGNES
