Madonna will perform a free mega-concert on May 4 at Rio de Janeiro's legendary Copacabana beach to celebrate the end of her tour, the singer and organizers announced.
It will be her "biggest" concert "to date, an unforgettable concert on one of the most beautiful stages in the world," said a press release posted on the American singer's website.
The concert marks the 65-year-old Madonna's return to Brazil, where she last performed in 2012.
This huge show will be her only concert in South America as part of this tour, which marks the 40th anniversary of her career, during which she has performed in more than a dozen countries.
It will be the only free concert of the Celebration Tour, designed to thank her Brazilian fans, the press release stated.
At a press conference, organizers explained that the concert will require logistics similar to the traditional New Year's Eve fireworks show that takes place every New Year's Eve on Copacabana Beach and draws at least one million people each year.
In 2006, the Rolling Stones concert at Copacabana attracted an estimated 1.2 to 1.5 million people. / BGNES
