Luis Enrique admitted: Mbappe's future is not linked to PSG

PSG coach Luis Enrique has commented on rumors of Parisian striker Kylian Mbappe leaving at the end of the 2023/24 season.

"Obviously, Kylian Mbappe's future is not linked to PSG, so we will have to test the tactics with other players," admitted Enrique, as quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

It was previously reported that Mbappe is likely to leave PSG at the end of the season when his contract with the club expires. He is expected to become a Real Madrid player. This season, Mbappe played 34 games in all competitions, scored 34 goals, and provided 7 assists. The Transfermarkt portal values the 25-year-old striker at 180 million euros.

Luis Enrique denied a scandal between the two and commented on the player's performance against Real Sociedad in the post-match press conference. PSG won the second leg 2:1, with the French international scoring both goals, and the Parisians advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

"Kilian is always important for us. I have no problem with him, I just look at what's best for the team. Today he was incredible, he gave himself to his teammates. It's a good moment for all of us. Mbappé doesn't need to be guided, so he knows what to do. Today he operated in a more fixed position than usual. In most cases, he gets more freedom of action, but today he was tasked with operating slightly on the left of the attack. He is ruthless in front of goal," explained the PSG coach.

"We coaches are always looking for solutions, but the players are the ones who play on the field. Today my players performed well, at a very high level. They were solid in defense and very effective in attack. It was a job well done in both games.", said the specialist for the finale. /BGNES
