Liverpool fail to beat Nottingham again, Jota saves point for Slott's team

Liverpool failed to beat Nottingham Forest for the second time this season, with the two teams drawing 1-1 at the City Ground.

Chris Wood put Forest ahead in the 8th minute and throughout the first half he did not allow the leaders of the standings to reach dangerous positions. Arne Slott's team had 9 shots in the first half, but none of them were on target.

Liverpool's breakthrough came in the 66th minute when Slott brought on Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas. Literally in the same minute, the Greek full-back crossed from a corner, and his pass was intercepted with a header by Jota, who equalized the score.

Until the end of the match, Liverpool created a number of chances in front of Mats Sels' goal, who saved the point for his team. In the 77th minute, the home team's goalkeeper deprived Jota of a second goal in the match. 11 minutes later, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah fired a dangerous shot, which was, however, cleared for a corner by Sels. Seconds later, Salah fired dangerously again, but his shot was cleared off the goal line after the intervention of Ola Aina.

After today's match, Liverpool and Nottingham remain in first and second place respectively, with the "Merseysiders" having a 6-point lead and a game in hand. | BGNES
