Liverpool are through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after thrashing West Ham 5-1 at home in the last quarter-final clash of the tournament. At Anfield, the home side dominated and cruised to a convincing success with two goals from Curtis Jones and one each from Dominic Soboslai, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah, while Jared Bowen scored the honor for West Ham in the 77th minute.
The Merseysiders thus joined Fulham, Chelsea, and Middlesbrough in the final four, and the draw separated the two favorites, Liverpool and Chelsea, with the Reds meeting Fulham and the Blues taking on second-division Middlesbrough. The semi-finals will be played over two legs on an alternate away leg basis, with the first leg being played in the week commencing 8 January and the second leg in the week commencing 22 January.
The final of the tournament will be played at Wembley on February 25. /BGNES
