LeBron creates more history as Lakers cruise past Washington

The LA Lakers beat the Washington Wizards 111:88 at home in another regular-season game of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

LeBron James continues to make history in his 22nd season in the league. The King finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists, becoming the second basketball player to record a triple-double at age 40 or older. The other is Karl Malone, who did it in on November 28, 2003, when he was 40 years and 127 days old. James also moved Scottie Pippen out of seventh place on the all-time steals list. He did it with steal number 2,308. With another steal, LeBron moved one closer to sixth-place Maurice Cheeks. Ahead of him are only John Stockton (3265), Jason Kidd (2684), Chris Paul (2669), Michael Jordan (2514) and Gary Payton (2445).

Otherwise, Anthony Davis was the most productive for the Lakers with 29 points, adding 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Austin Reeves and Dorian Finney-Smith each scored 16 points for the victory.

For the guests from the capital, Bilal Coulibaly scored 17 and was above everyone. Jordan Poole and Corey Kispert each scored 15 points, and Kyle Kuzma and Alex Sar scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

In the Western Conference standings, the Lakers are in sixth place with a balance of 23-18, while Washington is at the bottom of the East with only 6 wins and 36 losses after its 11th consecutive defeat. In their next games, the Wizards play the LA Clippers, while the Lakers host the defending champions Boston Celtics.
