Lazio defeated Napoli 1:0 away in a match from the 15th round of the Italian Serie A. The Eagles once again proved to be an insurmountable obstacle for the Neapolitans after Antonio Conte's team was eliminated from the round of 16 of the country's Cup on Thursday following a 1:3 loss at Olimpico.
Gustav Isaksen became a hero for the guests at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, scoring in the 79th minute after an assist from Tijjani Noslin. It was the Dutchman who inspired Lazio for the Cup win with his hat-trick. Noslin appeared on the field seven minutes before the winning goal.
Lazio's victory left Atalanta at the top of the standings. The Bergamaschi have 34 points, two more than second-placed Napoli, and three teams have 31 points each – Inter, Fiorentina and Lazio, with the champions and Fiorentina having a game less.
