Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, during which the two discussed peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Fidan stressed the importance of signing the peace agreement "as soon as possible," Sabah reported.
The normalisation of Turkey's own relations with Armenia also depends on Azerbaijan's ties with Armenia, Turkish officials said earlier.
The South Caucasus neighbours have fought two wars over the Karabakh region over the past 30 years, but this month staged a prisoner swap and issued a joint statement stressing they wanted to normalise relations and reach a peace agreement.
Fidan and Lavrov have also clarified the schedule of upcoming high-level and summit meetings. / BGNES
