Argentina prevailed 1:0 over Chile in their second Copa America Group A match. The win means the reigning champions have secured a place in the knockout stages.
Argentina's first shot on target didn't come until the 22nd minute when Julián Alvarez's shot was deflected by Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. In the 37th, Argentine legend Lionel Messi shook the left side post of the Chilean goal with a shot from about 30 meters.
After the break, Argentina stepped up their pressure with Bravo saving shots from Molina, McAllister and Gonzalez.
The only goal of the match was scored by Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, who was on target in the 88th minute after coming off the bench earlier.
In the other Copa America Group A match, Canada beat Peru 1:0, with Lille's Jonathan David scoring the only goal of the game. | BGNES
