Manchester City ended a five-game losing streak in all competitions but squandered a three-goal lead at home to Feyenoord in a Champions League fifth-round tie. The Etihad match ended in a spectacular 3:3 draw.
The Citizens, who were humiliated by Tottenham 0:4 at home at the weekend, came out extremely motivated to make amends to their supporters for the losses in recent weeks and in the 53rd minute they were already leading 3:0 with two goals from Erling Holland, the first of which from the penalty spot, and one by Ilkay Gundogan. However, in the closing stages of the game, Pep Guardiola's men collapsed and after a series of errors, including from Josko Gvardiol and Ederson, Feyenoord improved to a surprising point. The goals were scored by Anis Hadj Moussa (75), reserve Santiago Gimenez (82) and David Hancko (89).
After the draw, City is in 15th position with an asset of 8 points. On Sunday, Guardiola and company visit Champions League and Premier League leaders Liverpool. Feyenoord is one less in 20th place.
Elsewhere, Robert Lewandowski reached 100 goals in Europe's most prestigious competition after scoring twice in Barcelona's classic 3:0 win over Brest. Leva got to the target in the 10th minute when he scored from a penalty. The Catalans' Polish marksman joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only two other players with at least 100 goals in the tournament. Dani Olmo scored the third goal for Barca.
Arsenal, Atalanta and Atlético Madrid achieved impressive away victories. Arsenal ran over Sporting Lisbon 5:1, Atalanta was even more convincing against Young Boys - 6:1, and Atlético did not concede a goal against Sparta Prague for the final 6:0.
