Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish to perform at benefit concert for LA fires

Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish will headline a benefit concert this month to raise money for people affected by the Los Angeles fires.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the FireAid concert lineup also includes Jelly Roll, Lil Baby, Tate McCrae and Gwen Stefani. Among the performers not yet officially confirmed by TMZ are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Gracie Abrams, with more names to be added. The event is scheduled to take place on January 30.

The fires that started earlier this month caused devastating damage in California. The death toll has reached 25, and 38 others are missing. More than 12,000 structures have been destroyed or damaged, the Guardian reported.

FireAid was announced last week with partners Live Nation, AEG and Azoff Company. The concert will take place at the Intuit Dome, the home stadium of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Proceeds will "go toward rebuilding infrastructure, assisting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention technology and strategies."

The Eagles have already donated $2.5 million to the event. It is not yet clear if they will also perform.

Back in 2018, Lady Gaga worked with the Red Cross to deliver pizzas to those affected by the fires after she too was forced to evacuate her Malibu home. In 2007, Stephanie also set up a college scholarship fund for students affected by the fires.

Eilish has already spoken out about this year's fires, urging her followers to help support a number of nonprofit organizations. "Although our family is safe, many of the people and communities we love have suffered devastating losses. Altadena in particular is very close to our hearts. It was the backyard of our childhood, and the families, businesses, nonprofits and musicians there remain cornerstones in our lives," she wrote on Instagram.

Celebrities who donated large sums to help the victims include Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Lee Curtis. "This is literally where I live - everything, the market I shop at, the schools my kids go to. Friends, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many friends have now lost their homes," she said. | BGNES
