Kvaratskhelia officialy joined PSG until 2029

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli on a contract until June 2029. The Georgian international, who was also wanted by English clubs Liverpool and Chelsea, asked Serie A leaders Napoli to leave last week after the two sides failed to agree a new contract.

Kvaratskhelia is reportedly joining the French champions for a fee of £59m plus bonuses. "It's a dream come true to be here. I've heard so many positive things about PSG. I feel incredibly proud to be joining this great club and I'm looking forward to wearing my new colours", said the 23-year-old winger.

Kvaratskhelia arrived at Napoli in 2022 for £9m from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi and has a combined 54 goals and assists in 107 appearances. He is Paris Saint-Germain's first new signing of the January transfer window and becomes the first Georgian player in the club's history.

PSG are seven points clear of Marseille at the top of Ligue 1 and travel to Lens before hosting English champions Manchester City in the Champions League next week. | BGNES
