Kurti discussed Radojcic's extradition and the Ibar-Lepenzi canal explosion with Antonio Costa

Kosovo PM Albin Kurti called for EU punitive measures against Pristina to be lifted as soon as possible.
Kurti's words came during his meeting with the new president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, Koha reported.
Kurti also briefed Costa on the attack on the Ibar-Lepenzi canal on 29 November, while stressing the importance of the arrest and extradition of Milan Radojcic, responsible for the attack on the village of Banska on 24 September 2023.
"Prime Minister Kurti stressed the need to lift the punitive measures against the Republic of Kosovo as soon as possible. The Prime Minister further spoke about the security situation and the recent attacks. He informed President Costa about the terrorist attack of 29 November, on the Ibr-Lepenzi canal, and about the purpose of this attack to damage electricity production and water supply, which will leave more than half the population without electricity and water. He stressed the importance of the arrest and extradition of the main criminal and terrorist Milan Radojcic, for whom the prosecution already has a 160-page indictment against him and his group, and who continues to pose a security risk to the country and the region while moving freely in Serbia and has the support of President Aleksandar Vucic and the state apparatus there," the Kurti office said.
In a post on social network X, Kurti congratulated Costа on his appointment as president of the European Council.
"In Brussels I had the pleasure to meet and talk with the new President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, who is also hosting the dinner with the leaders of the Western Balkans tonight. Kosovo is ready and determined to move forward on the path towards the EU. As I congratulated him on his new post, I offered him close and sincere cooperation as long as our country remains steadfast in its commitment to integration into the European family to which Kosovo belongs," the Kosovo Prime Minister wrote.
BGNES reminds that on 3 December, Kurti met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaya Kalas. During the meeting, the issue of handing Radojcic over to the Kosovo authorities was raised again. On the same day, Kalas also met with Serbian President Vucic and called for a solution to the Banska case.
On 24 September 2023, a group of heavily armed Serbs attacked the village of Banska in northern Kosovo. One policeman and three of the attackers were killed in a pitched battle with Kosovo police. Milan Radojcic, a close friend of Vucic and former deputy chairman of the Serbian List (the largest party of Kosovo Serbs), claimed responsibility for the attack. After the attack, Radojcic fled to Serbia, which has refused to indict him or extradite him to Kosovo. | BGNES
