Despodov started the match on the bench in Scotland but made a significant impact when he entered the game in the 73rd minute, with his team trailing 0-2. In a matter of seconds, he netted a crucial goal, narrowing PAOK's deficit. Subsequently, the Greek team managed to get the win with goals from Vierinha and Stefan Schwab, who converted a penalty.
