Julia Roberts to be awarded honorary Cesar at French Film Awards

On February 28, American actress Julia Roberts will be honored with an honorary Cesar during the 50th edition of France's most prestigious film awards, Vanity Fair reports.

Roberts became famous for her role in the 1990 film Pretty Woman, where she partnered with Richard Gere.

She starred in several other romantic comedies that achieved huge success, such as "Notting Hill," and won an Oscar for her role as an informant in the 2001 film "Erin Brockovich."

To this day, she is one of the most famous and beloved actresses of American cinema, and is also known for her humanitarian and environmental commitments.

This year, French director and actress Agnès Jaoui and British filmmaker Christopher Nolan will receive a Caesar Honor for their entire careers.

Actress Catherine Deneuve will host the prestigious awards ceremony, which will be broadcast on Kanal+.

The nominations are due to be announced on 29 January. Last year's 49th edition saw Justine Triet's film Anatomy of a Fall triumph. | BGNES
