Jesus Pizarro: Clubs decide what to do with „LALIGA Impulso“ money

Clubs decide what to do with „LALIGA Impulso“ money. This was stated in an interview with BGNES by the international project development manager Jesus Pizarro, who is part of the second edition of the La Liga seminar. The main organizers of the event are Palms Bet, the official partner of La Liga for Bulgaria, and Foundation Sport in Bulgaria

„This is the second edition of the seminar, I used to be a La Liga delegate, now we have a new delegate in Esteban Casado. We started with Palms Bet and I'm very proud of that. We are already in the second edition and I am here to help with my experience to continue this amazing project", were the first words of Pizarro, with the workshop that took place at the Grand Millennium Hotel.

He spoke highly of La Liga's partnership with Palms Bet. „This is our second season with Palms Bet. Our relationship with the company is very good. It's a partnership, but we're trying to do different things and we really believe that Palms Bet is thinking a little bit out of the box. They are really concerned about us, about local football. We are here to share our experience of the situation in Spain“.

On his time as a La Liga delegate, Pizarro commented: „Being a delegate was great, we had a great international development project in La Liga with different people from around the world. But now, after three years, I made a personal decision to return to Madrid. I have been to Sofia many times. Working in „LALIGA Impulso“ is really challenging, representatives of Getafe and Sevilla also come here for the workshop“.

And regarding the project itself, the international development manager shared: „LALIGA Impulso“ was launched together with partner CVC – an investment fund that provides money for La Liga clubs for their future goals. What we have done in La Liga is to provide finance to the clubs, but not at any cost – they have to meet certain criteria and objectives. If that happens, we fund them, and they can use the funds for better infrastructure, better stadiums and sports facilities, but also for digital strategies. Any club can get this help. It is true that some clubs do not use the funds. The project will continue into the future to support the clubs regardless of what funding is provided by the CVC“, he said and continued:

„The plan was to distribute these funds and we had previous criteria for providing the same amount. You can say that we give the same amount at the beginning, but then there are different criteria - standings, TV rights, and then they get more or less. Clubs ultimately decide how and in what to invest this money. La Liga must check afterwards whether these plans can be approved. Clubs decide what to do as long as they respect the rules“, concluded Jesus Pizarro. /BGNES
