Jessica Simpson has responded to a follower's comment on Instagram* urging her to "stop drinking".
The singer and fashion designer posted a photo of her 11-year-old son Ace on Instagram and wrote that she has the sweetest and most beautiful son on the planet. One commenter (nicknamed nunyabusiness, meaning "none of your business") wrote: "Stop drinking" in response to this post.
The 44-year-old Simpson did not ignore the message and replied: "Since October 2017 I do not want or drink alcohol and this is the best decision I have made for myself and my family". Their conversation ended very amicably, with the incumbent apologizing and Simpson thanking him for his concern, adding that he "really didn't get it right".
Jessica Simpson spoke candidly about her alcohol addiction in her memoir Open Book, released in 2020. She stated that during her relationship with John Mayer in 2007, she became addicted to alcohol and pills because she felt insecure around him: "When I tried to step in and say something to break up his monologue, he disputed my words and I kept quiet. I was so afraid of disappointing him that I couldn't even text him, lest criticize my grammar and spelling".
In 2014, Simpson married Eric Johnson and they have three children. After the three pregnancies, she gained a lot of weight: her weight reached 108 kilograms. Because of this, she faced harassment and decided to resort to plastic surgery.
This eventually led to health problems. When she managed to lose weight, many people began to accuse her of using Ozempic, a diabetic drug that many stars began using to lose weight because of its side effects. Simpson herself denies these rumours and states that she was able to lose weight thanks to her strong will. | BGNES
