Blue Origin has postponed its long-awaited return to space, citing technical reasons and vowing to try again later this week, AFP reports.
Jeff Bezos' space company has not launched a rocket since the September 2022 uncrewed crash that led to the program's suspension while repairs are made and regulatory approval is awaited.
The company finally announced a launch Dec. 18 from its base near Van Horn, Texas. But on the day itself, it first postponed the launch window because of cold weather, then announced it was canceled.
"We are pulling #NS24 today due to a ground system issue that the team is troubleshooting. We will provide a new launch target for this week soon," Blue Origin wrote on X.
Although the rocket will carry a payload of science experiments rather than humans, the NS-24 mission must succeed for Blue Origin to get back to ferrying rich thrill-seekers to the final frontier. /BGNES
