Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reclaimed his place as the world's richest man, ousting Elon Musk from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bezos' net worth stands at $200 billion, according to the ranking, overtaking the Tesla chief's $198 billion.
The wealth of Musk, who also heads X and SpaceX, has declined by more than $30 billion as Tesla's stock price has fallen 25 percent in recent months.
Adding to Musk's woes is the fact that in January, a court approved the cancellation of his huge $55.8 billion compensation agreement with Tesla, which was originally struck in 2018.
Meanwhile, Bezos, who no longer runs Amazon, is benefiting from the e-commerce giant's soaring stock price.
Even after recently selling $8.5 billion worth of stock, he remains the company's largest shareholder.
French luxury group LVMH's CEO Bernard Arnault remains third on the list of the world's richest people with a net worth of $197 billion. / BGNES
