The Israeli army (IDF) has said it has killed a "central figure" in Syria responsible for Hamas rocket attacks on Israel.
The military said Hassan Akasha was "liquidated" in Beit Jin, an area under Syrian government control near the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.
"He was the central figure responsible for the rockets fired by Hamas from Syrian territory towards Israel in recent weeks," the army said in a statement.
"From the start of the war, Akasha led the Hamas terror cells that fired rockets from Syria into Israeli territory." /BGNES
