The Israeli military has announced that freed Israeli soldier Agam Berger has been handed over to the army by the Red Cross following her release in Gaza by Hamas, AFP reports.
"The returned hostage is currently being escorted by special forces and ISA (Israel Security Agency -- Shin Bet) forces on her return to Israeli territory, where she will undergo an initial medical examination," the military said in a statement.
The transfer is part of the ceasefire agreement between the terrorist organization and Israel.
Berger, wearing a military uniform, was escorted out by Hamas fighters before being handed over to International Committee of the Red Cross officials.
A total of 8 hostages are expected to be released within 30 January. | BGNES
