Israel's army captured 100 Hamas fighters in a hospital in Gaza

Israeli soldiers have captured around 100 Hamas fighters during a raid on the Kamal Advan hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.

Gaza's Hamas-controlled health ministry has denied the presence of militants at the hospital, which Israeli forces stormed on October 25, US News reported.

"Soldiers detained about 100 terrorists from the compound, including those who tried to escape during the evacuation of civilians. Inside the hospital, soldiers found weapons, means of terrorist activities and intelligence documents," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

Gaza's health ministry said soldiers detained dozens of male medical staff and damaged the hospital.

"Several of the fully identified terrorists disguised themselves as medical personnel, so we had no alternative but to check the medical personnel as well," an IDF official said.

Medical staff refused to evacuate the hospital or leave their patients unattended. Hundreds of displaced Palestinians have also been sheltered there.

"They evacuated everyone who had taken shelter here. They separated the men from the women and made two queues, it was very humiliating for our men as they took them without clothes and nothing to cover themselves with,” said Maisun Alian, a nurse at the hospital.

The IDF said the arrested Hamas suspects were stripped to check them for weapons.

After checking them, we supplied them with clothes," the Israeli military explained.

Gaza medics said at least 2 children died in the intensive care unit after an Israeli strike hit generators and an oxygen station at the facility on October 25. | BGNES
