Israel is "currently conducting" limited operations in neighbouring Lebanon, the US State Department said, cited by AFP.
"They have informed us that they are currently conducting limited operations targeting Hezbollah infrastructure near the border," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.
The spokesman declined to give details of those talks, leaving Israel "to talk about its military operations."
"We have had discussions with them about those operations, but the timing, the purpose, the pace of those operations - let them talk," he said.
Earlier today, President Joe Biden hinted that he was against Israeli ground operations in Lebanon, calling for a ceasefire at a time of extreme tension following the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Washington welcomed the death of the Hezbollah leader. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the world was "safer without him" while calling for de-escalation and a diplomatic solution in Lebanon. | BGNES
