Irving's 44 points lead the Mavericks to a victory over the Knicks

The Dallas Mavericks won their home game against the New York Knicks 128:124 in a regular season matchup of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

In the absence of their big star Luka Doncic, Texans turned to Kyrie Irving, who did not disappoint them. The 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers champion erupted for 44 points while adding 4 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals to his tally. He finished 15/26 from the field and 6/10 from three. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 32 points, Josh Green had 18 and Grant Williams had 11 off the bench.

For the New Yorkers, Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson combined for a total of 62 points, but their efforts were not enough for success. Donte DiVincenzo added 19 points, new addition OG Anunoby scored 10 and center Isaiah Hartenstein came close to a double-double with 8 points and 15 rebounds, 5 of which were offensive.

Dallas is seventh in the West with a 23-16 record, while New York is in sixth position in the Eastern Conference with 22 wins and 16 losses. In their next games the Knicks visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday and the Mavericks play the New Orleans Pelicans.
