Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar again criticized Israel's actions, describing its operations in Gaza as "something approaching revenge," the Guardian reported.
He told state broadcaster RTE this morning:
"I strongly believe that ... Israel has a right to defend itself, it has a right to go after Hamas, that they cannot do this again. What I see developing right now is not just self-defense. It looks, looks like something more like revenge. We shouldn't be there," Varadkar said.
Ireland is among European countries not complying with Israel's response to the October 7 attacks.
Earlier, the Irish prime minister said that while Israel has the right to defend itself, it "does not have the right to do wrong". At the beginning of the bombing of Gaza, he also stated: "For me, this is tantamount to collective punishment"./BGNES
