In the western part of the city of Khan Yunis, the paratrooper brigade stormed a multi-story building believed to have been used by a Hamas brigade commander to direct the fighting against Israel, The Times of Israel reported. The army claims that weapons and military equipment are located in the building.
In one of the apartments, the soldiers discovered a cache of hand grenade launchers. The paratrooper brigade also killed several Hamas gunmen in close combat over the past day, as well as a man who threw two grenades and approached soldiers with a knife.
The Givati Brigade, also operating in Khan Younis, killed a gunman who was approaching them and directed an airstrike against two more Hamas men heading towards the building. Also in Khan Younis, a fighter jet struck and killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad sniper.
In northern Gaza, Israeli soldiers killed seven Hamas snipers in the last day. Israeli warplanes have carried out several strikes in Gaza over the past day, including targeting Hamas rocket launch sites and other infrastructure. Naval forces also carried out strikes along the coast of the Strip, supporting ground forces operating in the area.
