Romania defeated Ukraine with a classic 3:0 in the start of Group E of the European Football Championship in Germany.
At the "Allianz Arena" in Munich, the Ukrainians started more actively, and the most active in the ranks of Serhiy Rebrov's team was the striker of Girona, Artem Dovbyk. The Romanians withstood the opponent's pressure and gradually took the game to more advanced positions. It wasn't until the 29th minute that Real Madrid keeper Andriy Lunin made a mistake trying to clear the ball and Nicolae Stanciu didn't wait for a second call, signing off with a superb shot from outside the penalty area. Ukraine were in shock and almost went 0:2 in the following minutes, as Stanciu's cross from a corner bounced off Lunin's crossbar.
At the start of the second half, the Romanians, led by Edward Iordanescu, settled the dispute with two lightning goals within four minutes. First, Razvan Marin found the ball wonderfully and it went under Lunin's dive to make it 2:0, and soon after Ukraine's defense made another mistake and this time Denis Dragus found himself in the arms of his teammates, scoring into an empty net after a pass from Dennis Man. No new goals were scored until the end, and so Romania went confidently into Group E of Euro 2024.
The team has an asset of three points, and later tonight is the other match from the group, which opposes the favorite in it, Belgium, and Slovakia. The Romanians will next play the Belgians on June 22, and a day earlier Ukraine will seek revenge against the Slovaks. | BGNES
