Hungary will withdraw its objection to Bulgaria's accession to the European passport-free Schengen area after the Bulgarian parliament formally confirmed the abolition of the additional tax on Russian gas supplies, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in Facebook.
"I was informed by my Bulgarian counterpart that yesterday the Bulgarian parliament abandoned this law," Szijjarto said in a video on his Facebook page.
He said that once the law is published by parliament, Hungary will drop its objection and ask the European Commission to suspend the infringement procedure Budapest has started. /BGNES
