Hungarian fans disapprove of BFU's decision to deny access to Bulgaria game

Passionate Hungarian fans of the national team have expressed their strong dissatisfaction with the recent decision made by the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) regarding the Euro 2024 qualifiers match between Bulgaria and Hungary. The BFU announced yesterday that, following consultations with UEFA, they had relocated the match from Sofia to Plovdiv and, unfortunately, decided to hold it behind closed doors at the "Hristo Botev" stadium.

The decision was prompted by concerns about a planned protest against the BFU management, organized through social networks. "Another crucial match will be played without the presence of fans. This time, the reasoning behind this decision has taken us by surprise, as the Bulgarian Football Association appears to be deterred by organized protests. We find it deeply regrettable and entirely unacceptable that around 2,500 Hungarian fans will be denied access. We can only express our hope that the team can achieve its objectives even without us. Additionally, we extend our best wishes to the Bulgarian fans in their courageous fight against their unsupportive, anti-fan association. After all, football is nothing without its fans," stated the "Carpathian Brigades '09" organization.

It's worth noting that Hungary could secure their qualification for the Euro 2024 finals with a draw against Bulgaria. /BGNES
