A large fire broke out in an office building owned by the Danish pharmaceutical group Novo Nordisk, maker of weight loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy, AFP reported.
"It's a huge fire. There are about 100 firefighters on the scene," Copenhagen fire chief Martin Smith said, adding that everyone had been evacuated from the building.
Novo Nordisk said it would take several hours to extinguish the fire.
"Today, a fire broke out at the Novo Nordisk site in Bagsvaerd and it spread to a neighboring office building. The process of extinguishing the fire is expected to last several hours. The smoke is not toxic and no one was injured," the company announced.
Smith said the fire started in a container at a Novo Nordisk construction site and spread to the roof of an adjacent office building also owned by the company.
The fire broke out less than a week after a fire broke out at another Novo Nordisk site under construction in Kalundborg on May 16, which did not affect drug production./BGNES
