Houston defeats Sacramento after strong second half

The Sacramento Kings lost to the Houston Rockets 104:112 at home in another regular season game of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Alexander Vezenkov, who is out of action with an ankle injury, did not play for the Californians again.

The Texans cruised to victory after a strong second half, winning the third quarter 32-14. Fred VanVleet was the top scorer for the Rockets with 22 points. He also added 9 assists to his tally. Jalen Green added 19, and Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. Sengun, however, left the court at the end of the match, and his condition is still unclear, but the 21-year-old Turk was carried off on a stretcher with a knee and ankle problem. Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr. and Cam Whitmore each added 10 points.

For the Kings, Domantas Sabonis finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists, but also 9 turnovers. Malik Monk had 20 off the bench and De'Aaron Fox finished with 18, but didn't have a good shooting day, going just 7/21 from the field. Keegan Murray contributed 13 points, but it didn't help the Kings avoid losing in front of their home crowd.

Sacramento is under the Western Conference playoff spot with a 36-27 record, while Houston is 11th with 29 wins and 35 losses. In their next games, the Rockets visit the San Antonio Spurs in a Texas derby, while the Kings host the Milwaukee Bucks.
