Hollywood actress Florence Pugh had a serious reproductive problem

Hollywood star Florence Pugh has revealed that a surprise diagnosis forced her to freeze her eggs at the age of 27 if she wanted to have children in the future.

The British-born actress revealed that she suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis - both conditions that can impair fertility.

Pugh, star of hits such as "Oppenheimer," "Dune" and "Little Women," said: "Last summer I was a little concerned and I just wanted to go and get it checked out. We ended up finding out information that I probably wouldn't know until I was trying to have children in another five years."

Pugh booked her initial check-up after "a few strange dreams" made her think she needed to get checked out.

She recalls being surprised when the doctor asked her if she had ever had a reproductive system exam. She was later diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis.

"It was so weird because my family is a baby-making machine," Pugh explained. "My mom had babies into her forties, my grandmother... she had so many kids. I just never imagined that I would be any different, that I would have a problem."

Pugh revealed that the diagnosis was mind-blowing for her, as she has wanted children "since I was a kid," but is happy that she will be able to have her own children in the future. | BGNES
