Holland turned Old Trafford into a 'theatre of nightmares' with two goals in the derby

Manchester City beat their city rivals Manchester United again. Pep Guardiola's team 3-0 in the derby of the 10th round of the Premier League. Erling Holland became a hero for the champions, who turned "Old Trafford" into "Theatre of Nightmares" with his two goals.

He also recorded an assist on Fowden's goal. So Holland already has 47 goals in 45 matches in the Premier League after joining the "citizens" before the start of last season. In today's match, Holland also became the player in the English elite who has reached 20 away goals the fastest - within 23 meetings.

The match started evenly and the home team failed to put Marcus Rashford in good positions on several occasions, and in the 19th minute their goalkeeper deflected a dangerous shot by Jack Grealish.

In the middle of the first half, Rasmus Hoylund held up Rodri in the penalty area and after the intervention of the VAR system, a penalty was awarded to City. Erling Holland was ruthless from the penalty spot and opened the scoring in the 26th minute.

United were quick to respond, as soon after the goal it was Hoylund who broke free from the visitors' defense and went all alone against Ederson. The Dane tried to overcome the goalkeeper, but closed his corner. In the last seconds of the first half, Ederson deflected a masterfully powerful shot by Scott McTominy, after which Onana made a memorable double save against Holland.

Soon after the break, however, the Norwegian striker was found in similar fashion, with Bernardo Silva's cross to head home to double the lead in the 49th minute.

In the 69th, however, Rashford could have reduced it after receiving a great lead-out pass and controlled it excellently on his chest, then shot diagonally, but the ball went inches wide of the side post. City's reply came just 2 minutes later when Holland found himself alone against Onana, but the home keeper shone with another superb save.

Ten minutes before the end of the regular 90, however, he was helpless. Holland could have completed his second hat-trick in the city derby, but instead he passed to Phil Fowden to make it 3-0.

Thus ended United's run of 3 victories and the team remained with 15 points in 8th place in the provisional standings, while City have 24 to their credit, the same as second-placed Arsenal. /BGNES
