Danish tennis player Holger Rune withdrew from the Paris Olympics due to a wrist injury.
The former world number four has struggled to regain his form this season, failing to reach a final since the first week of the year and slipping to 16th in the rankings, AFP reported.
"I'm really sorry that I won't be able to play in the Olympics," the 21-year-old tennis player said in a post on social media.
"I've been playing with wrist pain all season on clay and grass, so I have to take the doctor's advice seriously," he added.
On July 24, world number one Yannick Siner also withdrew, citing tonsillitis as a problem.
The Olympic tennis competition begins at Roland Garros in Paris on July 27, the day after the opening ceremony. | BGNES
