Kamala Harris has questioned Donald Trump's fitness for office. The oldest candidate for the White House in American history has faced speculation that he is "exhausted" after turning down a series of interviews.
While appearing on friendly TV networks, the 78-year-old Republican cancelled meetings with media outlets including NBC, CNBC and CBS. He also turned down a second debate with Harris after being soundly defeated in the first. Politico reported that a Trump aide told producers on a website that the former president was "exhausted" and refusing some appearances - a claim described by his campaign as "divorced from reality."
But Harris, who turns 60 this weekend, attacked Trump for his health and stamina. "If you're exhausted on the campaign trail, it raises real questions about whether you're fit for the toughest job in the world," Harris told supporters during a tour in Michigan.
The former president has hardly been idle, pursuing a busy schedule of appearances in new and traditional media, but most have been in media where he was rarely challenged.
Trump reacted angrily to Harris' jab, telling reporters he hadn't canceled anything and calling his Democratic opponent a "loser" who "doesn't have the energy of a rabbit." | BGNES
