"No progress made in the new round of Gaza ceasefire talks".
This was stated by a Hamas official who participated in the talks. Delegations from Israel, Qatar and the United States took part in the negotiations held in Cairo, the Guardian reported.
Earlier on April 8, Egyptian state television channel Al-Qahera News quoted a senior Egyptian source saying progress had been made in the talks.
Israel and Hamas sent teams to Egypt on 7 April after CIA Director William Burns arrived on 6 April. His presence underscored US pressure to conclude an agreement to free the hostages held in Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian crisis there./BGNES
