Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that he suffered a stroke last week that left him temporarily unable to use his left arm, the New York Post reported.
The 77-year-old musician made a video message to his fans on Instagram in which he shared the news.
"I'm here to tell you some good news - the good news is that I can play the guitar after the events of the last few days," May said.
“I say that because there was some doubt as that little health blip I mentioned happened about a week ago and it was a minor stroke. I have to say it was a bit scary," added the musician.
He praised the medics for their "fantastic care" and added: "I didn't want to say anything at the time because I didn't want anything around, you know. I really don't want sympathy.'
“Please don't because it will clog up my mailbox and I hate that. The good news is I'm fine. I just do what I'm told, which is practically nothing. I'm punished," said the guitarist.
May appeared in good spirits in the clip, adding that he is not allowed to drive or get on a plane as it risks raising his heart rate.
The guitarist has had health issues in the past, including a heart attack.
He told his fans he was "very close to death" after he was taken to hospital in May 2020. Doctors discovered three of his arteries were blocked. | BGNES
