Grigor Dimitrov has withdrawn from the ATP 500 tournament in Washington, which will be held from July 29 to August 4. The reason is the injury that the world No. 10 received at Wimbledon.
Dimitrov retired midway through the first set against Daniil Medvedev, with what was later revealed to be an adductor tear. A few days ago, the three-time Grand Slam semi-finalist wrote on Instagram that his recovery is going well, and in addition, photos of him appeared on social networks, showing that he has resumed training on the court. Apparently, however, the tournament in Washington is coming too soon for Dimitrov, and he has decided not to take any risks with his health.
Washington's non-participation will result in a loss of points for our first racket, as it reached the semi-final stage last year. The next tournaments on Dimitrov's schedule are the Masters competitions in Montreal (August 6-12) and Cincinnati (August 12-19). | BGNES
