Professional tennis players named Grigor Dimitrov Sportsman of the Year in the traditional ATP awards at the end of 2024.
Dimitrov finished the season in the top 10 of the world rankings and with his always impeccable behavior on the court won the votes of his colleagues for the prize named after the legendary Stefan Edberg. The award is given for fair play, professionalism and integrity, both on and off the court.
"I am very grateful to all the fans, to all my colleagues, to everyone who supports me all the time. I feel very lucky," said Grigor, who won the award for the first time in his career. "This is an incredible recognition and I promise to continue and try to give my best," he added.
Last season, the Bulgarian tennis player recorded 46 wins and 18 losses, winning the title in Brisbane and reaching three more finals - in Miami (Masters), Marseille and Stockholm. | BGNES
