"Gaza is an open-air prison," says Angelina Jolie

Reacting angrily to Israel's bombardment on the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza, American actress and former UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie called for an end to hostilities. Posting pictures of the camp for refugees on her own Instagram account following the strike, she wrote, "This is a deliberate bombing of a trapped population with nowhere to escape."

"For over 20 years, Gaza has been an open-air jail that is rapidly turning into a mass cemetery", the American actress stated on Instagram that innocent children make up 40% of those who have died.

"Families in their entirety are being killed. Millions of Palestinian people, including women, children, and families, are being collectively punished and dehumanized while under international law being denied access to food, medication, and humanitarian relief. This is happening while the world looks on and with the active cooperation of several nations. The world's leaders are implicated in these atrocities", she claimed, "by refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and preventing the UN Security Council from enforcing one on both sides".

She also expressed her outrage and requested assistance in response to Israel's airstrikes on Gazan residents last week. /BGNES
