Last week's box office results were dismal.
Hollywood released two new widescreen premieres for the Memorial Day holiday in hopes of attracting audiences of all ages, but both George Miller's "Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga" and Mark Dindal's "Garfield" turned in seriously degraded results. This turn of events has led to much curiosity throughout the industry as concerns have risen about the 2024 summer movie season in general... and circumstances have certainly not improved over the past three days.
