The long-awaited high-speed train connecting Paris and Berlin will be launched today for the first time.
Deutsche Bahn explained that the new route promises faster, direct and daily journeys between the two bustling capitals, and at a competitive price.
How long will the new Paris-Berlin train take?
Currently, the daytime journey between Paris and Berlin involves a change and usually takes between 9 and 10.5 hours.
The ÖBB Nightjet night train between the two capitals takes around 13 hours and 15 minutes and departs only three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
This night service was also suspended just eight months after it started due to major construction work on the rail network. It resumed in early November, about three months after it was suspended.
The new direct train service will run every day and take around eight hours, departing from Paris Gare de l'Est at 9.55 am and arriving at Berlin Hauptbahnhof at 6.03 pm.
