The French prosecutor's office has opened a preliminary investigation following the seizure of weapons from the villa of 88-year-old actor Alain Delon in the Loire department. As reported by the district attorney Jean-Cédric Gault on the social network X, the investigation is being conducted on articles of illegal possession, acquisition and storage of weapons of categories A, B and C.
During the February 22 search of Alain Delon's home, 72 firearms and more than 3 thousand rounds of ammunition were seized. Investigators also found a shooting range in the actor's home. In this case, according to the newspaper Le Parisien, Delon did not have a permit to store weapons.
Alain Delon's guardian, Hiromi Rollin, is concerned about the lack of control over the actor, who is "kept without medical care with weapons nearby," her lawyer told Le Parisien. Alain Delon's daughter, Anoushka, spoke about her father's fascination with firearms and his collection in an interview with Elle in February.
The search of Alain Delon's home was carried out as part of a French court's decision to place the actor under guardianship in January due to his deteriorating health. The decision followed a procedure initiated by the actor's children, Anthony, 59, Anouche, 33, and Alain-Fabien, 29. The guardianship suggests that Delon will hire an agent to help him with medical monitoring and real estate transactions. / BGNES
